Most property sites start with the home. Boroughly starts with you: your budget, the people and places you need to stay close to, whether you need a halal butcher or a Lidl or great schools within walking distance, and whether an area actually feels welcoming - including how diverse and LGBTQ+ friendly locals say it is.
It was built by Imane, a London-based software engineer, after going through the search personally and finding that the answers to the questions that mattered most were scattered across Reddit threads, crime maps and word of mouth. Boroughly pulls them into one map.
The map and every area guide are free to use, permanently, no sign-up. Boroughly is funded by Plus memberships - a printable move report and on-demand Q&A for anyone actively house-hunting - and by businesses licensing the area-data API. Neither ever changes a score, a ranking or what the free tool shows you.
Prices are median sold prices from HM Land Registry Price Paid Data (April 2026). Scores are indicative composites and community grades are user-submitted opinion - always visit an area at different times of day before deciding.
